![]() but I have no idea where to start with trying to detect duplicate MAC addresses. ![]() What I'm wondering though is if there is an issue with duplicate MAC addresses somewhere. We know it is not a problem with the network delivering traffic to that particular IP address because the newly created VM has no problems and it has the same IP. There are quite a few reasons why I think it is a network issue and I can explain them all if anyone is interested but rather than making this a long complicated post I thought I would just keep it concise. Now the problem is that we have had this issue before but with two other VMs running on different ESX servers (for full details of the problem see this thread: http:/ / / topic/ 107275) so I'm extremely doubtful that just rebuilding the VM has resolved the issue completely and believe it is a network issue either on the physical network or the virtual network. Its a virtual server and eventually we just rebuilt it in another VM and attached the data disks from the original VM, then all seemed to be ok. ![]() our file server stopped responding to any incoming network traffic and I was still at work until 2 AM trying to get it back online.
